This blog has been more than what I bargained for. People do scream my name. the waters did rise and I did have to build walls. I did fall in love. This time, there is no pain. I met so many wonderful people. It has been surreal.
“dare to be different’ happened because I lost what I knew to be mine. I lost my marriage, my family, my normalcy. I was dared.
I chose to accept the dare and be different. My son chose this slogan for my company and these words mean much to both him and I. they ring true every day.
I was the girl that kept wearing the same black dress. And then Marilyn came into my life. Her army, michelle, lauren and christina started texting me. Poking me, rebuilding me. Simple kindness and Jimmy Choos will cure all ailments. Studio LX became part of my firm. Old friends came out of hiding, Bibi and christy made a Splash and introduced me to Ivette. We did a television promo in everything Alexis. Now, I was ready.
The choice to quit smoking, saved a lot more than my life. It gave me purpose to pay it forward. I became humble. I am grateful. stopsmokingstartliving is my duty now. Shacky started me moving with this movement. That’s a great record to make.
My body is my temple, my soul is hard to touch. Body & Soul opened during my transformation and is a great part of my success. Pharrell and Kim Kardashian were memories only a big guy like Alex can afford me.
Doctor Dribble walked into B&S and my heart simultaneously. he brought with him a new method. A new method of living and a new method of loving. Without any hesitation, he is my favorite client.
I am a beast. I am a marathoner. (Roman likes to clarify half- marathoner) I have abs. I squat properly. I swing. The credit is mine and the venue in which this took place is Newton’s Method.

Throughout this blog, I did many good deeds and they deeded me back. Its no cliché that when you help someone else, you help yourself the most.
I am still one big bang away from the end of this year. I will be rapping up two more goals on my list before 2013 comes to a close.
I celebrated Hanukkah. Why not? He loves me, I love him – it’s cool.
As all greatness, it’s a constant work in progress. My site is being revamped. I was told I cannot blog for a month or two. Haaa!
The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do. #iwillblogon
Im not sure how, not sure when but please keep checking in- I will be back.
In the meantime, we can set up camp on facebook temporarily or maybe ill pop a squat on a friendly website. What I do know, is that I will come back stronger, larger and better in 2014. I’m dope like that, hard headed.

sailing…..takes me away



 

To where I’ve always heard it could be.

I was there! On Newport Bay, at peace. Names like Vanderbilt, Lee & Perrins, JP Morgan were the proprietors surrounding this magical body of water. It was my first time and frankly, long overdue. I’m going back to Providence and I’m sailing every chance I get. How do you get to be my young age and learn fabulous new experiences daily? I am fortunate in many ways.

Speaking of age, I wanted to SHOUT OUT to my friend and sister- Maria m*ergy Sentmanat a very happy birthday!!! I trust you will make it a grand day! I love you always.

Gulliver is also having a big birthday- 60 years wonderful! Mrs. K left a legacy. This school year we will be doing all “G” at a 60, expect to see it at the Holiday MarketPlace! That’s my gig! We are at our limit for applications, but please keep them coming as the final elimination process has not yet taken place.

Welcome Deanna to Studio LX, go Hurricanes! It’s all bout the U!

The Dolphins don’t make me cry. A new quiet confidence has taken over Tarpon Bend, the Ale House in Coral Gables and most of Miami. We are 2-0. I pray the Falcons be our third take down. The perfect season happened here first, Don Shula, Dan Marino 17-0, I’m a hopeful romantic. Why not? Other than the Marlins debacle, we are a city that has been lucky. Most winningest. Let the good times roll.

Considering most winningest, this week, I’ll be hanging with Uuuuuuuuuudonis and Battier. I’ll try to jump up and take a pic. The Chamber sure knows how to breathe life into me every time I open a corporation! Diamond Awards here we repeat. I hope. Thank you Mark, for always supporting me.

The Benjamin Dash packet pick up is October 31. Yep, Halloween! Boil, boil, toil and trouble, I can’t wait to dress up this year. Training is legit for this fundraising obstacle race as m*ergy is not only training the dash team but herself and Soy Delicious for the IronMan too. So fortunate to have shared an Ashram with her this week. Jugo Fresh coming to Body and Soul will ensure more of these moments Fo Sho!

Moments, fragments, Los momentos. This week, I received two very touching messages that I feel should be mentioned. Each message came from a woman that is going through a struggle. Neither one mentioned the struggle instead thanked me for helping them through theirs. I didn’t do much but be me and live my life. In doing this, simply living, without trying- I helped two women. Be it ever so tiny the act of letting me know, I was enormously humbled. You see, I am you. Struggling too. Stiff upper lip ladies, tomorrow is only a day away.

Providence is the next marathon for my man, Doctor Dribble. Today, he will be honored at the Dolphins/Falcons game for just being him. It’s 1:43pm now. Go figure?

I don’t twerk, I work

Sweatlife is addicting. I am an addict. I replaced Marlboro Red at a pack and a half a day for a Real Ryde with m*ergy and now too, a Method created by a formidable golfer.

I have tried many ways to sweat, to get strong, to become empowered. All of them are effective. You take out what you put in. It’s immediate. It’s loyal and gratifying. If only love was so easy.

This weekend however, I tried something new. I drew blood from my assailant. I punched a six foot two inch man in the face. I have bruises all over my body. My manicure is in tact, thankfully. This experience is Self Defense instructed by my friend, (I hope still) Orestes Sampson. He gave a short (Ha!) seminar explaining why people attack, what happened to them, how they think, what provokes these incidents and then we got physical. Not Olivia Newton John physical more like MMA material. My favorite part of the seminar was when he said, ” in result, the biggest mistake an assailant will make is picking me as his victim”. The tone was set for the physical aspect of this class. I sweat like a pig, learned how to tenderize a mistaken attacker and make regret any fool who thinks I’m scared. I encourage all men, women and children to learn how to defend themselves. I highly recommend the Big O, be your choice for instructor on this topic. Thank you Orestes, I am stronger.

My Business Mag coming out in November will be featuring one of our blossoming clients, Soy Delicious. The article is about Hispanic Entrepeneurs. I hope they include the tiny fact that she is a Super Spartan and soon an IronMan. This month M2, send me Burberry candles or more Bond whatever suits you.

It’s Instinctual, it’s natural

At back to school night, where we were learning about Gulliver, our Raiders and the future, I was teaching the “popular table” about “natural instincts.” The ladies and some men, Mario Frati, wanted to know about poses. In all fairness, I can’t teach it- but I am learning it daily. It’s an infusion of animal flow, yoga and breakdancing at Newton’s Method. Virginia Beach much like Miami Beach was hot and sexy. More than 20,000 runners came to compete at the Rock n Roll Marathon this weekend. As always, Doctor Dribble was front row and center, with his balls, reppin’. He made a cameo at the Boo Williams Sportsplex and spent some quality time sharing his mad skills with worthy young men. Soul Food was fantabulous too!

“Please Don’t Go” is a great tune, and KC without his band just hustling through the Atlanta airport is a sight to see. Chris Daughtry snoring behind you on the plane was also an awesome experience. I mean he knows Simon! My hero remains Simon Cowell and now, a Superhero that can crow pose better than me.

She made it! A series of her own. A spin teacher that trailblazed through mud and muck to stardom. Maria, I’m so proud of you! Thank you for letting me be in your show. Unstoppable!!

Dow Jones and Miley Cyrus let me down this week. Enough.

Hope and optimism is how I want to begin this month! I have health, a fair shake, and I embrace what is coming. Ramon Arbesu and his sister Ileana, put things into perspective for me.
